  • It was a busy few weeks for the Central Bank of Turkey, as it lowered the country’s benchmark interest rate 25 basis points to 13.25 percent in late April. The decrease was the 10th since the rate stood at 18 percent at the end of 2004. At its May meeting, the bank decided to leave interest rates unchanged, although it said the likelihood of future reductions has declined.
