Argentina’s second-quarter unemployment rate fell 1 percent to 10.4 percent compared to the previous quarter. The rate was 1.7-percent lower than the same quarter in 2005.

Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, the unofficial loser in the hotly contested Mexican presidential elections, refuses to concede, continuing his call for a recount and alleging fraud on the part of declared winner Felipe Calderon.
