The New York Board of Trade (NYBOT), which trades futures on the U.S. Dollar Index (DX) and various currency cross rates, including the Euro/Japanese yen, Australian dollar/Japanese yen, Euro/Swiss franc, Swiss franc/Japanese yen, British pound/ Japanese yen, and the Euro/ British pound, also had a successful February.
Total volume for the month — 3,413,473 combining futures and options contracts — was the second highest in the exchange’s 135-year history, despite February being the shortest month of the year. U.S. Dollar Index futures volume increased 12 percent during the month.
