- Canada’s unemployment rate dropped 0.1 percent in October to 6.6 percent, its lowest level in three decades. The rate is 0.5 percent lower than a year ago. Private sector employees provided the majority of the employment growth, while retail employment saw gains among youth and adult men.
- The United States’ Federal Reserve said foreign central banks increased their holdings in U.S. debt in the second- to-last week of November. According to the Fed, holdings increased by $7.866 billion for the week ending Nov. 23 and now stand at just more than $1.5 trillion.
