- Argentina’s Q2 economy increased 16.4 percent over Q2 2004. The country’s jobless rate fell to 12.1 percent, a 0.9-percent decrease from Q1 and a 1.8-percent drop from the same quarter last year.
- Brazil’s Q2 GDP grew 1.4 percent from the previous quarter and 3.9 percent from the same quarter in 2004. Accumulated GDP for the first half of the year increased 3.4 percent compared to the first half of 2004. Unemployment remained unchanged quarter-to-quarter at 9.4 percent, but is still in a downtrend that began in May 2004, when it stood at 12.2 percent.
- The GDP for Canada in the second quarter increased 1.3 percent from Q1 and 4.9 percent from Q2 2004. Quarterly unemployment remained unchanged from the previous quarter at 6.8 percent.
