Canada’s April unemployment rate remained stable at 6.1 percent from the previous month and fell 0.3 percent compared to April 2006. The 6.1percent figure represents a 33-year low, and Statistics Canada says that when adjusted for comparability with the U.S., employment growth in Canada was stronger than the U.S. Brazil’s February unemployment rate increased 0.2 percent from the previous month to 10.10.
