  • McMillan Analysis Corp. has developed an Expected Return Calculator — software that uses statistical analysis to evaluate even the most complex option positions, giving the trader an idea of whether or not there is a probability of success in the trade. “Expected return” is the return one could expect to make from a position over a large number of trials. All the facets of a strategy are incorporated into expected return — specifically, the probabilities of making or losing money and the size of profits or losses. Also, expected return analysis allows traders to accurately compare different strategies to see which is best. The trader defines his position, which can be extremely complex — involving multiple options and expiration dates, as well as a possible linear volatility skew. Outputs are calculated swiftly and accurately, and all can be printed and exported to Excel. Tabular outputs include position “greeks” as well as expected profit calculations at any number of user-defined dates during the life of the position. Graphical outputs show how the position is expected to behave at those same user-defined intervals. For more information, visit www.optionstrategist.com.

  • Global Forex Trading will be Strategy Runner’s first partner in the online currency trading market. Online forex trading customers will have access to high-performance algorithmic trading architecture, based on Strategy Runner’s server–based technology and supported on the back end by GFT’s forex dealing operation. Strategy Runner’s server-based technology gives forex customers access to fully-automated algorithmic trading by using seamless data integration tools to communicate between two separate software programs. This will allow forex traders, money managers, systems developers and signal vendors to automate strategies created through TradeStation, Excel, Fix, Java, or Visual Basic. These strategies can then be integrated to work with Strategy Runner’s platform, which executes forex trades through GFT. Strategy Runner’s automation tools provide secure and centralized distribution and monitoring of unlimited systems and signals across multiple accounts all in real-time.
