The “other” exchange that trades currency futures the New York Board of Trade (NYBOT) — may not be a threat to the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, but it has continued to expand trading volume in 2005. Total volume in the U.S. Dollar Index (USDX) futures and various currency pair futures (including the Euro/yen) reached 412,943 contracts in June — 48 percent more than June 2004.
