- Japan’s third quarter-GDP increased 2.1 percent on an annual basis and 0.6 percent from the second quarter.
- Hong Kong’s third-quarter GDP increased 6.2 percent on a year-over-year basis and 1.7 percent from the previous quarter. The increase marked the 16th consecutive quarter of distinctly above trend growth, according to a government press release. The same press release indicated unemployment for the three-month period from August to October fell 0.2 percent from the previous period to 3.9 percent. The rate is 0.7 percent lower than the same period in 2006 and represents the lowest level since mid-1998.
- Australia’s October jobless rate increased 0.1 percent to 4.3 percent compared to the previous month, a drop of 0.2 percent from the same month a year prior.
- Singapore’s third-quarter economy rose 14.3 percent on an annual basis.
